According to recent information, around 23,000 Pakistanis are imprisoned in jails around the world. These people are accused of numerous crimes including drug trafficking, rape, murder and robbery.

A detailed report has been published in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, quoting the Pakistan Foreign Ministry. According to the information released in the report, it was told in the Pakistan National Assembly that around 23,000 Pakistanis are imprisoned in various jails around the world, out of which 12,156 are in various jails in Saudi Arabia.

Apart from this, around 400 people are imprisoned in China. 5,292 are in UAE while 45 Pakistanis are in jail in Bahrain. The report, citing Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, said that 338 Pakistanis have been sentenced in Qatar for serious crimes such as theft, murder, drug trafficking, money laundering, rape and financial fraud. In Oman, 309 Pakistanis have been sentenced for drug trafficking, murder, robbery and sexual assault.
