Bollywood’s Deol family has been given a lot of love by fans. From Dharmendra to his two sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, they are very popular among fans. Their films create a buzz at the box office. The year 2023 proved to be the best year of the Deol family’s career. But their next generation, i.e., Sunny Deol’s two sons Karan and Rajveer, did not get the love of the fans.
There is often a debate on nepotism in Hindi cinema. Everyone believes that if a star is a hit on the screen, then his son or daughter will also be a hit later. The same hope is placed on Nepo Kids or Star Kids that they become as popular as their family. However, this does not happen to everyone.
Now Bobby Deol has given his opinion on nepotism. In an interview, the actor, while talking about his son Aryaman Deol’s debut, said, ‘I am not launching my son. But I am waiting for someone to come to me with a good script for him. We are waiting, and I have told my son that till then you will have to work hard, because times have changed. When I started, you used to get opportunities to prove yourself and improve.’
Bobby Deol further said, ‘I believe that being my son or Dharmendra’s grandson can benefit him. But after that, he will have to prove himself. There are many actors whose children have come into films and flopped. Usually it is outsiders who have succeeded. My father was an outsider and I am lucky that I am his son. But in the end, your work speaks for itself.’
Bobby further said, ‘The experience of working in films has not been good for my brother’s sons either. Just because he is Sunny Deol’s son and Dharmendra’s grandson doesn’t mean his career has reached heights. He didn’t benefit from nepotism. He has to work hard, and that’s what he is currently doing.’
Both Sunny Deol’s sons Karan and Rajveer have already made their Bollywood debuts. His elder son Karan made his debut in 2019 with his father’s directorial debut ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’. After that, Karan’s second film came in 2022, but that too could not do much.
On the other hand, Sunny’s younger son Rajveer made his debut with the film ‘Dono’ made by Rajshri Productions, which was released in 2023. However, both flopped badly at the box office. Fans did not accept Sunny’s sons the way they accepted the actor.
