China’s Reaction To The Afghanistan-Pakistan Ceasefire: After a week of clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, both countries have calmed down and have implemented a 48-hour temporary ceasefire. On the other hand, reports have also emerged that partial clashes are ongoing on both sides. Amidst all these developments, China has given an important response to the Afghan-Pakistan ceasefire. Along with this, China has also targeted America.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said, ‘We welcome the ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ceasefire, peace and stability are very important for the interests of both countries. We urge both countries to exercise restraint and implement a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire.
He said, “Both Pakistan and Afghanistan are friendly neighbors of China, neighbors that cannot be changed. China supports both countries in resolving their differences through dialogue and negotiation and returning to the path of political settlement.”
It is worth noting that Pakistan attacked Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) bases in Kabul, which led to clashes between the two countries on October 8. The media wing of the Pakistani army claimed that security forces had foiled an attack by the Afghan Taliban on the Balochistan border. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Pakistani army had attacked the Spin Boldak area of Kandahar. Pakistani air strikes on Wednesday killed 15 Afghan civilians in Kabul and Kandahar and injured more than 100. Following the incident, Afghanistan sent tanks to the border, which escalated tensions. After a week of clashes between the two, a 48-hour ceasefire was announced on Wednesday evening.
