Deepika Padukone breaks silence on 8-hour shift issue : says – Why doesn’t anyone question male superstars?

Deepika Padukone Breaks Silence On her 8 Hour Shift Demand: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been embroiled in controversies for a long time. Her demand for eight-hour shift and demand for more money had created a lot of controversy. Due to which Deepika was removed from two big South films, ‘Spirit’ and ‘Kalki 2’. Many reasons were given for the actress’s removal from the film.

There were many allegations against Deepika Padukone. Many people called her demands ‘unprofessional’. Now after a long time, the actress has broken her silence on all the allegations against her. In an interview, Deepika questioned the double standards of the industry and said, “If it feels like pressure because I am a woman, then fine. But it is no secret that many superstars, male superstars in the Indian film industry have been working for eight hours for years and this has never come up in the discussion.”

“I don’t want to name anyone right now and I don’t want to make this such a big issue. But it is common, publicly known about many male actors who have been working for eight hours for years. Many of them work only eight hours from Monday to Friday. They don’t work on weekends. I think the big issue is that the Indian film industry is called an ‘industry’, but we have never actually worked that way. It is a very chaotic industry, and now it is time that we bring proper order and structure to it.”

Deepika’s 8-hour shift talk came to light when she was dropped from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film “Spirit”. It was being said that the actress was making such demands from the makers to raise her daughter Dua, which she rejected. In the same interview, Deepika further revealed that, ‘Many female actresses who have become mothers also work in eight-hour shifts. But the controversy happened only with me.’

Deepika further said on her controversy, ‘I have done this on many levels. This is not new for me. I think, as far as money is concerned, I have had to face everything that comes with it. I don’t know what to call it, but I am someone who has always fought my battles quietly. And for some strange reason, sometimes it comes out, which I don’t know, nor was I raised that way. But yes, fighting my battles peacefully and respectfully is my way.’
