- Hamas claims Trump presented Netanyahu’s plan
US President Donald Trump presented a 20-point plan to end the Gaza conflict. Israel has accepted the plan wholeheartedly, but there has been no clear response from Hamas. Hamas appears to have rejected the proposal because it believes the plan is aimed at achieving Israeli interests. Trump’s peace plan proposal includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces, complete disarmament of Hamas, the formation of a temporary transitional government under the leadership of an international organization, etc.
Hamas believes that the proposal ignores Palestinian demands. A news outlet quoted a senior Hamas official as saying that there are deep concerns about several conditions of the plan. There are objections, especially to the demand to take weapons from Hamas and destroy it and to the international peacekeeping force in Gaza. This proposal is contrary to the basic spirit of Palestine.
Palestinian officials believe that this plan is a humanitarian disaster and the only harsh option is to reject it. This is a Netanyahu plan that Trump has presented. US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with the media, warned Hamas to reach an agreement in just three or four days. If this does not happen, he said that he would be prepared for terrible consequences. For Hamas, there is no possibility of negotiations now.
