Ahmedabad: A team of the Ahmedabad Customs Department and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have dealt a major blow to the international drug trafficking network by seizing 39.24 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. In which, high-level banned drugs worth about ₹39 crore have been seized from three Indian nationals coming from Bangkok and further action has been taken.
This was the third time that a large quantity of drugs was seized from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. Based on specific information, DRI officials monitored the movement of the suspects on their arrival. When the information appeared to be a person, a detailed search of their six trolley bags was carried out. In which, the officials seized 60 green, lumpy suspicious packets hidden in the clothes kept in the bags and in packets of branded snacks including Kellogg’s cereals and Chisels.
