At least four people have died in South Korea due to almost continuous heavy rains for the past two days. More than 1,300 people have been evacuated to safer places, officials said on Thursday evening. According to reports, a total of 1,382 people have been evacuated to safer places. One of the dead died when a wall collapsed on his motorbike. Three others died when the motorbike they were riding in sank. They said that one of the walls on either side of an overpass near the city of Osam collapsed, killing the motorist who was passing on the road next to the overpass. The incident took place near the capital Seoul.
Three other people died when the car they were travelling in drowned in a flash flood in the river.
Authorities are investigating both incidents further. On the other hand, meteorologists say that such unusual rainfall events continue to occur as temperatures around the world have risen significantly.
