I don’t answer them at all : New Zealand minister’s comments about Indians

New Zealand’s Immigration Minister Erica Stanford is in a controversy for hurting the sentiments of Indians. While answering a question, she said that she never replies to emails sent by Indians, calling them spam. This statement has created a controversy in New Zealand. Erica Stanford was asked why she had forwarded government emails to her personal Gmail account. Responding to this, Erica said, “I officially comply with the Information Act. I guarantee to forward all the details to the parliamentary email account. But like Calvin Davis, I get a lot of unknown emails. For example, immigrants coming from India send a lot of emails asking for advice on immigration. I don’t respond to them. I consider them spam.” Erica’s statement angered the Indian community and opposition MPs.
