Four people were killed and several buildings in the capital Kiev were set on fire in a major attack by Russia early Friday morning, Ukrainian officials said in a statement.
The head of the Kiev military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said emergency teams had responded to multiple attacks, injuring at least 27 people.
Ukrainian President Zelensky said that 430 drones and 18 missiles were used in today’s attacks across the country. The well-planned attack was aimed at causing maximum damage to the population.
The Azerbaijani embassy was damaged by fragments of Iskander missiles. The city was hit by several powerful explosions. 15 people have been hospitalized, including one man in critical condition and a pregnant woman.
City authorities have warned of disruptions to electricity and water supplies. In the Darnitsky district, drone and missile debris fell in the courtyard of a residential building and the premises of an educational institution, causing a car to catch fire.
In the Dripovsky district, three apartments, a house and an open space were set on fire. In the Podilsky district, five residential and one non-residential building were damaged.
