Veteran actor Satish Shah, known for his memorable role in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, passed away on October 25 at the age of 74. He was battling a kidney-related illness.
According to reports, actor Satish Shah passed away at 2:30 pm at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment for a kidney-related illness. The actor had recently undergone a kidney transplant. His manager confirmed the news and said that the last rites will be performed on Sunday.
Satish Shah’s death is a big loss for the industry. His mortal remains will be brought to his ‘Kalamveer’ residence in Bandra. After that, his last rites will be performed tomorrow i.e. on October 26. Satish Shah was a well-known actor in the Indian film and television world, who made a special place in the hearts of the audience with his excellent comic timing and brilliant acting. He won the hearts of everyone with his art not only on TV, but also in films.
Satish Shah was born on June 25, 1951 in Mumbai. He completed his studies from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and then took acting training from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
Satish Shah started his career with films in the 1970s, but he made a name for himself with the role of Indravardhan Sarabhai alias ‘Indu’ in ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ and he is still remembered for this character. He received a lot of praise for his tremendous performance in this comedy show. Apart from this, he played different characters in each episode of the show ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’. Also in Bollywood films, he has played memorable roles in many hit films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate’.
