Shahrukh Khan’s troubles have increased in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut web series ‘The Bads Of Bollywood’. Former NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against Shahrukh Khan-Gauri Khan’s production house ‘Red Chillies’ and Netflix. He alleges, ‘A character in this series has a face exactly like mine, due to which my image has been damaged. For this, I demand a compensation of Rs. 2 crore. For this reason, trolling is also being done against me and my wife on social media.
Following Sameer Wankhede’s complaint, the Delhi High Court has summoned ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ and asked the company members to appear within 7 days. Now the matter will be heard on October 30. There has been no statement from Shah Rukh Khan’s company on this matter yet.
Let us tell you that Sameer Wankhede had claimed that, ‘In this series released on Netflix on September 18, an attempt has been made to tarnish my image. There are some scenes in the series in which I am referenced.’
The defamation petition clearly states that the image of any person cannot be tarnished by giving the name of any creative or filmic imagination. Wankhede also told the court that, ‘Even though my name or identity has not been directly used in the show, it is clear to the audience that this character is inspired by me.’ During the preliminary hearing, the Delhi High Court had issued notices to all the parties and ordered them to respond within seven days. The court will hear arguments from all parties in the matter on October 30.
The former NCB officer has urged the court to declare the show’s content defamatory and has sought a compensation of ₹2 crore for the same. Wankhede has claimed, “After the show aired, I have faced several derogatory reactions on social media and my image has been seriously damaged. This show is not only wrong, but also raises questions about my professional integrity.”
