Some time ago, there were rumours of Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja getting divorced. In fact, earlier this year, there was news that the couple was preparing to separate after 38 years of being together. So now, Bollywood veteran actor Govinda finally reacted to the rumours about his marriage to Sunita Ahuja on the talk show ‘Too Much’ with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna. During this, for the first time, he spoke openly about his relationship and understanding with his wife Sunita.
‘Sunita is like a child, but with the responsibility given to her, she was able to handle our house, because she is who she is, she is honest, her words are never wrong. She just says things that she should not.’
‘The problem with men is that they don’t think like that. I always believe that men run the house, but women run the world.’
When asked if Sunita often talks about her mistakes, Govinda replied in his typical style, ‘She has made many mistakes herself… I have forgiven her and her entire family many times.’
He pointed out the ups and downs that come with any long-term relationship, saying, ‘Sometimes – sometimes, I think, we become too dependent on them. Especially if your mother is not with you, you become more dependent on your wife. And as time goes by, she starts scolding you like a mother, she explains everything like a mother. She doesn’t realise it, but we see it. Now we can see how much she has changed, how she was when you were younger.’
