Pop sensation Taylor Swift was dragged to court by Justin Baldoni and his legal team, who then changed their minds after attempting to subpoena her in the legal dispute with Blake Lively, the star of Gossip Girl. Baldoni dismissed the court case that was seeking papers and answers from the Cruel Summer singer on her knowledge of the scenario involving her longtime best friend Lively, who is also the co-founder of Wayfarer Studios, according to a Deadline story on Thursday. Baldoni had previously accused Swift of being creatively involved in the case, claiming that the Grammy winner and Ryan Reynolds were involved in altering the rooftop sequence in the movie It Ends With Us. The sources state that the investigation into Taylor has been ordered to be formally suspended and that she will no longer be subject to subpoenas.
Bryan Freedman, the head of Baldoni’s legal team, replied on May 22 saying they had gotten all the information they needed, but they did not go into great detail regarding their most recent action. Baldoni highlighted the scene in which he was invited to Lively’s house for dinner in front of Reynolds and Swift, and he was compelled to alter the script to suit Lively’s wishes, in a set of screenshots he posted back in January from his $400 million lawsuit against Lively and his team. In reference to the hit television series Game of Thrones, he even posted photos of Lively referring to her husband and best friend as her “dragons.” Blake Lively’s representative told Deadline that the team is celebrating the termination of the “inappropriate subpoena,” despite Swift and Baldoni’s teams declining to issue a statement.
