US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 50% tariff on European Union countries. He posted on social media that a 50% tariff would be imposed on all products coming from the European Union, unless these products are made in America. Trump is planning to implement it from June 1. According to a PTI report, Trump is upset with the lack of progress on a trade deal with the European Union. The EU has proposed to reduce all tariffs to zero by mutual consent, while Trump is adamant on imposing a 10% tariff on all imports. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump made it clear that he does not want to make a deal with the EU. If companies invest in America, they can avoid tariffs. Before announcing tariffs on Europe, Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on iPhones made in India and other countries.
