US Treasury Secretary slams Trump’s ‘America-Alone’ policy

  • ‘We have made a mistake by spoiling relations with India’
  • America First policy, resulting in America-Alone, we have lost the trust of our allies: Raimondo

Former US Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers Raimondo had strongly criticized the Trump administration’s unilateral foreign policy and said that it will erode America’s global prestige. He has made a terrible mistake by spoiling relations with India.

In a speech given at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics, he said in clear words that our global influence has been weakened by distancing ourselves from even our closest allies. America, which does not have allies like Europe or Japan, is becoming weaker.

Regarding the deteriorating trade relations with India, he said that our shortsightedness is the reason for this. Only India can truly support us in our strategic plan against China. Along with this, urging a return to multi-faceted diplomatic activity, Raimondo said that we need to regain the trust of our allies and friends. The America First policy is right. But it has turned into an America-alone policy. Which is scary. We have to improve relations with our allies and friends. Instead, we have arrogantly and arrogantly remained isolated from our friends and allies and even from other countries of the world.

Now, making a real attack, he said: The world is not going to wait for us. My concern is that no one will wait. On the other hand, at a time when China is spreading its claws everywhere every day, the heartland of South Asia (India) can be helpful.
